Transfer Rumours: Robinho to Inter, Tottenham to offload Crouch
Tottenham’s boss Harry Redknapp has realized that he no longer has any need or use for Peter Crouch in his squad and is now looking to get a deal in motion for the player. He is currently set to be looking for bids for the player starting at as low as seven million pounds. Liverpool are currently the only team that are interested in re signing Crouch who previously served a term at Anfield under Rafa Benitez. Tottenham are looking to use the money they get from the sale of Peter Crouch to help lure West Ham midfielder, Scott Parker.
Another player other than Cesc Fabregas, whose future seems to be pretty unclear at the moment is, Robinho. Apparently his agent has started to hold talks with Inter Milan over the future of his client. City are currently ready to let the player go as long as any team can match or come near the thirty four million they paid for the player two years ago. Another option that Inter have is to offer Balotelli as part of a trade for Robinho, inter have been chasing Balotelli for a while and might just find this offer a little too tempting to let go of.
Chelsea’s manager, Carlo Ancelotti has made it clear that he is not going to let Ashley Cole leave the team under any circumstance. Real Madrid have been chasing the player for a while now but would have been forced to take a step or two back after hearing what Ancelotti had to say. Ancelotti was reported to have said, "Ashley Cole is a Chelsea player and he will remain a Chelsea player. Everyone can forget the idea that he will leave this club.
"There is no way that will happen. We believe he is the best left-back in the world and because of that he'll stay. There is no price that will make us sell."
Those words make the managers intentions pretty clear, meaning it would be stupid of Madrid to think that they could still pursue the player or think that they have any chance of signing the player before the start of the next season.
Arsenal are still looking to fix two major holes in their squad. Firstly they need a world class keeper that won’t cost them game after game and with the recent outflow of defenders from the club, they will be looking to sign at least two centre backs. There is currently no deal emerging anywhere that would show evidence of the fact that Arsene Wenger is looking to lure a player or two to the club.
The situation has gone from being funny to highly troublesome for the fans of the club, who know that without those players their team has very little or no chances of launching a successful title challenge this coming season. According to a report by the Mirror, 'Wenger admitted that he is determined to bring in "at least one" central defender and smiled when asked about top target, Werder Bremen's German World Cup defender Per Mertsacker.
'"I would prefer not come out on specific names," said Wenger. "When you do that their value goes up by 50 per cent."
Wenger also claimed keeper Manuel Almunia - given a start yesterday - would have to accept competition as he looks to bring in Fulham veteran Mark Schwarzer. This report might convince a few but it shows no signs of Arsenal signing more than two players. If they don’t manage to get those players within the remaining few weeks then this could be another trophy less season for the team.
