The Ajax midfielder claims that although he won’t be arriving in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 this January, he intends to play in the Premiership during his career, with Manchester United reported as the ideal destination.
Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paul-Scholes-c29394 ever since the English midfielder’s advancing age threatened to end his Old Trafford career.
The likes of Nick Powell and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Tom-Cleverley-c35218, but nobody comes close to matching the Red Devils’ Ginger Prince, who has ruled Manchester since making his debut as a fledgling youngster.
Fergie even sought to sign http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wesley-Sneijder-c36799 as a potential replacement for Scholes, but the Dutchman was unwilling to commit because of wages and eventually the transfer saga brought down.
Currently, the 19-time English champions often struggle in midfield for creativity and according to reports, they may look to solve that particular problem with the signing of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Christian-Eriksen-c9074 in the near future.
The Danish star has taken the Eredivisie by storm and is well known throughout European circles for his attacking verve and ability to influence games with ease. Ajax have benefitted immensely with the player in the ranks and the way he comfortably took
care of Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League was clear evidence of his abilities.
Ferguson is reported to be a big admirer of the youngster and is ready to splash the cash if the target becomes available in the few months.
However, Eriksen himself, has put a lid on a move for the time being, claiming that although it was his long-term aim to play in the English Premier League, he was staying put at Ajax for the time being and would only listen to potential offers during the
summer transfer window.
“I don't think so. If something really exciting is coming, maybe you would look at it. But my feeling now is take it easy and see when it comes. I think for everyone who wants to get to the highest level, you have to be in the Premier League, of course.
But when that should be, I have no idea. Maybe 10 years.”
"I'm going to see what opportunities there are but I'm still happy here and I don't have any thoughts that I have to leave. Money has never been a motivation. I have chosen football before that every time and I still do that. I'm addicted to football. When
I get outside, I just want to stay on the training pitch,” the Danish star was quoted as saying while speaking to the media.
However, Ajax will surely demand a hefty transfer fee for their prized asset and the lingering presence of Tottenham Hotspur is also likely to complicate matters even further, but for the time being Eriksen will wait and so will Manchester United, who remain
hot on his heels.
