Does anyone know if you can transfer a US prescription to an Australian pharmacy?

  1. just get it when you get there, tell the pharmacy whats wrong with you and they will give it to you

  3. in my opinion you cannot. im moving abroad in 2 months and am not able to transfer my prescriptions over. this is mostly because even the generic names of prescriptions can vary between countries and they may not have the exact generic equivalent. it is possible to load up on scripts before you leave the country if you talk to your doctor (im not sure how much insurance companies cover) but you can get enough to hold you over until you find a doctor in australia.

  4. Probably not.  In the U.S. all prescriptions must be written by prescribers who are licensed in this country.
