  1. Every day at 5 am there's a train from Tiburtina station every 15 minutes that goes to the airport in about 40 minutes, and from Termini there's another train that in 30 minutes arrives to Leonardo airport, but this last train is more expensive than the other train from Tiburtina.. ciao!

  2. There are night buses run by Cotral that run from Roma Tiburtina station to Roma Termini and then on to Fiumicino airport (Leonardo da Vinci). The bus line is #A12 and it runs every day. http://www.cotralspa.it/ENG/collegamenti... The cost is 4.50 euro. The one that leaves Tiburtina at 3:45 am will get you there in time for a 6:30 am flight - it arrives at the airport at 4:30 am. The next earlier bus is at 2:15 am; however, there is not a later bus that would connect with your flight. The bus would be the lowest cost option.

Someone else has provided information on taxis already. This would allow you to leave for the airport later, but would be much more expensive. Depending on where you're staying in Rome and how convenient it is to get to the bus, this may be your best option even with the extra cost. Note that a taxi will cost more at this time than it does during the day.

Another option would be to stay closer to the airport the night before you have to leave. The cab cost wouldn't be so high and you may or may not save on the hotel as well depending on your choice in Rome. There's a Hilton at the airport where you can just walk to the terminal, but it's fairly expensive. There are some other reasonable options not far from the airport though.

  3. Wow.....that is a very early flight and I'm afraid it is going to cost you more because of this.  There are several options for transportation; however, because you will have to be at the airport so early, the two most affordable options are not running. The shuttle buses don't operate this early and unfortunately the direct trains which connect the city of Rome to the airport start at 05:52 (departing from Rome's Termini station) and the journey to the airport is 31 min.  So...it sounds like you would be arriving at the aiport right around the time you are supposed to be on the plane.

It seems like you will have to take a taxi (Note....There is a set rate for the Rome taxi drivers of 40 Euro from the airport to the city center).  I would always recommend giving yourself plenty of time to reach the airport.  There shouldn't be much traffic that time of day but better early than late!

I have all the train, shuttle, and taxi information written out on my website, Traveler's Guidebook, http://www.travelersguidebook.com/Rome.h...  There is also some more practical information about Rome as well.

I hope this helps you some and I also hope that you have a wonderful time in Rome!
