Transfer from ipod touch to itunes?

Question

I switched my itouch to manual sync and got about 46 songs and a movie from a friends computer

when I got back home to my computer I couldn't move any music or movies to the itunes library

how do I do it?

and

can I ever switch it back to auto sync?

itune blocks this function since itune is the tool with one way to transfer files from itune to ipod. you must utilize other tools to achieve that.
