Transfer from naples airport to sorrento???

Take the bus from Napoli airport to Napoli Centrale train station. Downstairs from the train station (follow the signs from the main floor) you will find the Circumvensuvia station. This is a very local cattle car railway that runs only from Napoli to Sorrento and back, two to three times per hour. It is about E5.5 round trip. Buy the ticket just before boarding. That's the easy part. There are three stops in Sorrento, so have an idea of where in Sorrento you are trying to end up before getting off. The third Sorrento stop is the end of the line, so you can always ride back to another stop if you over-shoot your destination. There are rental cars and motorcycles/scooters down the hill from the last stop. These are great for seeing the Amalfi coast. You will see much more than if you take the bus there because you can pull over and look at the scenery along the way, which is what you came to see. The trip back can be a bit trickier. If you want to end up where you left off, take the Cirumvensuvia rail back toward Napoli, but don't go to the last stop. Get off at Piaza Garibaldi. This is where you got on  below Napoli Centrale Station. Many people mistakenly take it to the end of the line in Napoli and have to walk back to the station or wait for the next run. Not a problem and it will even expose you to some of Europe's dreariest living conditions! Cultural. The Cricumvensuvia stops within walking distance to Pompeii if you want to see that too along the way. Look for the little symbol of Mt. Vesuvius on the rail car map. Also, not much you can do about it, but this rail stops at almost everyone's front door along the way and asks them if they want a ride. ;-)  I'm guessing 25 stops in the 70 minute one way ride.
