  1. are they still in your ipod? you will need to have a 3rd party tool to help you copy songs in your ipod to computer as itunes blocks the ipod-to-computer transfer, here is a review of top 5 ipod  copying softwares(windows/mac): http://www.ipodtocomputer.net

  2. I had that same issue and when i restored "My Documents" from my backup drive i found that all of the song info etc was back so try doing that and it may work for you as it did for me. I was using windows xp at the time but I did the same thing for Vista.

  3. There are a couple of ways of going about this. Either way, you should download and install iTunes on your new computer, if it's not installed already. Next, you should replace the iTunes Music folder on your new computer, with the iTunes Music folder on your old computer. Next you can take one of two steps:

    1) Drag and drop every file and folder from your iTunes music folder onto iTunes, and it will import all your old songs into a new library.

    2) Replace the file named "iTunes Library" in your Music > iTunes folder with the file of the same name from your old computer. This should copy your old library including your playlists, from your old computer. The danger here is that if there is any difference between the way your files are saved on your old computer and on your new computer, you'll get errors.

One other thing: Songs purchased through the iTunes music store will likely have DRM protection. For these, you'll need to go into your iTunes music store account, and authorize your new computer to play your old songs.

  4. say, for example, everything on your old computer was in a folder named C:\Users\(Your Name)\Music\iTunes\iTunes Music. In order to correctly transplant your music to the new computer, you would have to copy the folder named iTunes and put it into the corresponding documents folder on your new computer. not itunes music, but itunes. it has an .itl and .xml file that store all your library information. as for the tags, they should be stored on the music files themselves.

now, if youre using xp, it would be documents and settings\(your name)\my documents\my music\itunes. i think

and if youre using a mac, i cant help you.

  5. first of all make sure that your backup drive is well installed on ur other computer or you can use tht backup hard drive as a network. second, make sure that you have all of your songs on the hard drive. Copy and paste your music from itunes to a folder and then drag and drop the folder to the backup drive. then when you hooked up the hard drive to ur new computer you can drag and drop the folder to ur desktop or u can drag and drop your music to the itunes. Hope this helps!! :-)
