Transfer of a Dell OS Image?

I have an Image of my Dell (it keeps crapping on me) and I luckily had it saved one more time in an image. I was wondering instead of putting it back on the Dell (XPS M1210) and if I could transfer it to an HP? I know there are driver issues and what not, but does anyone know if this could be done?

This would be very helpful. Thank you.

A dell os intall disk will not work on an HP system.

That depends on what program made the image - not all image programs can read the images of other programs.  (I use dd for all imaging - it's the best image program I've found.)
