Transfer to a new University and change a major?

Hi I'm a freshman at a Mongolian National University majoring in International relations. I want to transfer to a University in US. Is it possible to change a major and start majoring in Finance in my sophomore year once I'm in US.

yes of course, in fact you can change your major quite a few times, although this might delay your graduation date a smidge.

You will probably have to apply to a US university from the very beginning.  Go through the application process, take all the tests, submit the application.  You might get lucky and get SOME of your credits transferred over, but don't expect it.  Almost assuredly, you'll have to start from the beginning.

On the other hand, it's just one year.  You have no idea how many people get through 4 years of college only to realize they want to do something totally different and need another bachelors.
