Question:

Transfering a Domain?

Ok, so my account with yahoo that had my domain registered on it has been deleted and I cannot access the domain on it.

Now I feel pretty certain that I never unlocked it, but I feel like I should try to transfer it just to try.

BUT...I don't want to go and buy a transfer and pay for it and then not be able for it to go through.

So my question is...on godaddy, I was going through the process of transferring and when I put in the domain and stuff, it didn't tell me that it couldn't be transfered yet, but if it were not transferable (because it was locked), would I get as far as the final checkout? Or would it not actually try to transfer it (and thus see if it were locked or whatnot) until after I paid? If I pay for a transfer and then it's not transferable...can I get a refund on it?

Thanks!

  1. You will not get your money back as far as I know. You have to option to wait until it expires or writing a letter to the internic. You can also try the "backorder" service from some registrars. Also if you are using Godaddy please check out http://www.TemeculaValleyDomains.net it has the same services as Godaddy but is just a bit cheaper.
