Transfering video cam movies to a laptop?

hello we have bought a second hand sony handycam video camera ccd-trv78e

when we have taken the movie how do we get it from the camera to a laptop...i have a new grandaughter and cant wait to use it...(also id like to make my own movies)lol haha

anyway..please let me know what adapter i need or whatever it takes to do this as we don't know.. thanks liz

Cables change depending on the type of camera and lap top.

I suspect an USB cable should do. However if you leave close to a PC World I would take both of them there and they should be able to advise.
