Question:

Transfering video to Mac OS X 10.4.11

I bought a Panasonic Camcorder SDR-H40.  My Mac does not see it.  It transfered the still pictures but not the videos.  I cannot use a firewire cable since the camera does not have a slot for it.  I have iMovie HD 6.0.3
I don't mind buying the newer version iMovie 08 but I need to be certain it will be able to work with the SDR-H40.
Please help.
