Transfering videos from a camcorder to a PC?

Panasonic PVGS19 . It stores the videos on tapes. I have a firewire cable but when i connect the camcorder to my PC nothing happens . Do you have to have a cretain software to do it.?

  1. You should have Windows Movie Maker already installed on your PC if it's a Wintel system, or iMovie if it's a Mac.  Both can capture your video.
