Question:

Transferring BACK to my PREVIOUS university?

I am currently attending CSU East Bay but I transferred from a private SoCal school called Concordia University Irvine. My question is, will I still be able to transfer back? Like if I take all GE units plus the major requirements, can I transfer and take only like a year of remaining units? Basically, like transferring on my last yr of college? Because I really would love to graduate there than here in the Bay.

  1. Any units that you already took at Concordia will still count.

I HIGHLY recommend that you contact Concordia ASAP and speak with an admissions counselor there. If your grades at CSU are good, there should be no reason why you cannot transfer back, as long as you were in good standing when you left. The most important thing is to find out from Concordia which classes taken at CSU they will accept. It would really be a shame for you to take 60 or 90 units at CSU, only to find out that many don't transfer and have to retake classes or get behind schedule.

Also find out about Concordia's residence requirement. Most schools require that a certain number of upper division classes are taken there in order to receive a degree.

  2. a private college may not take the credits from a public school but you can try

  3. the more you transfer, the more you lose. its a game the colleges play to get you to pay. most jobs don't care where you graduated, just as long as you have a degree. if its the bay you care about. just get the school done and over with and move back there afterwords. unless you don't mind spending more time and money in college.

  4. You shouldn't have a problem--almost every university will allow transfers back and forth.  The catch is that CSU might not accept all the credits you earned at Concordia--the registrar will look for similarities between classes at both institutions and accept or reject based on her findings.  You might want to chat with the CSU registrar about transfer credits before making any moves.
