Transferring Schools

Well I'm going to 9th grade and i am zoned for Palo Verde High School. I have heard really bad things from people there so i really want to transfer to a different school but people tell me that if you transfer you can't do sports for a year so i need information about that and if its a good idea because Palo has lots of gang violence.

That's the usual policy -- no sports your transfer year.  That's to keep schools from recruiting and promising students or parents stuff like special privileges or something for transferring their student to "this" school.

I don't know of any exceptions specifically.  But that would depend on your local school district.  You'd have to ask them about possible exceptions.
