Transferring photocopied images onto paper/fabric?

I went to art college ages ago and we did some exercises of how to transfer photocopied images.

We used a clear liquid, which smelt really bad, but it was fab!!! I want to use it again for a project I'm doing. It's some kind of car cleaning product. I cant think what it's called, it's doing my nut in!!! plz help

  1. There is a particular product especially designed for this called "image maker" and is by a company called Dylon.

    I have also used cellulose thinners which could be what you refer to (yes it stinks and is usually available as a solvent in DIY stores), where you soak the fabric or paper and then rub over the back of the image with a spoon or pencil.

    If you want the image permanent and washable on fabric i suggest the image maker, if you dont want this the cellulose thinners  are better as they dont give you the plasticky film of the image maker.
