Transferring photos to fabric?

Question

im making a present for my friends birthday, and i want to make a pillow w/ our favorite band on it for her. so, do i have to use a photo on actual photo paper (like if they were professionally developed) or can i print out the picture on computer paper and have it transfer to fabric?

You can print on fabric or buy fabric "paper" at the craft store you can use for this project.
