  1. Usually the computer's operating system automatically detects the device attached as a camera and gives you the option of copying the pictures from it to a directory on your computer's hard drive.

The fact that you are getting this error probably means there is something wrong with the cable. I hope that's all it is, because that is easy to test and correct. You simply need to get a new cable - but make sure it's the correct one. Some cameras don't use a "standard" mini-USB jack and need a special cable.

If that's not it, then there's probably a problem with the camera. Not good. It's going to be very expensive to repair.

If the camera uses an SD or some other kind of memory card, you can remove it and transfer the pictures using an adapter. Most newer computers have a built-in camera card slot, but the adapter is very inexpensive if you need one.

The software that came with your camera is probably not necessary for transferring pictures. It most likely has some photo management program on it and maybe some photo editing/printing programs. None of this is required to transfer images.

    Good luck.

  2. if it has a memory card just take it out and put it in youre computer and transfer them from there.

  3. Well if you downloaded the software from the website it will probly not work with your specific cam. but if the camera was new you shoeld have gotten software BUT THERES A BETTER SOLUTION! if you can take out the memory disk that you had to insert in the camera depending on the computer and/or printer(s) you have cou can put the sim card where stated on the said printer and/or device on the comp. then just go to my computer and select the memory card disk that pops up then kaboom there are ur pictures

  4. I just plug my camera to the computer via a USB cable and Windows does the rest.

Look for drivers of your camera and install them or any software that came with the camera. If already there then unistall them all and reinstall them in case they got corrupted.

Make sure there are no device conflicts in Control Panel/System/Devices.

  5. can you take out your memory chip and put it in your computer? i have  a new computer and it has a slot for memory cards, when you hook it up can you find a link for it when you go into my computer?

  6. First of all i'd take that sucker back and get a better camera like casio or canon

  7. Buy a card reader.  You put the memory card into the card reader and then plug it into a USB port on your computer.   They cost only about $10, and can be found at most stores that sell digital cameras.
