what is the orginal optimus prime transformer toy worth (original box and packing)?

According to the most recent issue of Lee's Toy Review, a generation 1 (from 1984) Optimus Prime in the box (in top condition) is worth $400.

The answerer above me is right - I own one myself (along with many other boxed transformers) so I keep an eye on ebay to see what they are worth. I have actually seen them sell from $300 right up to $1200

$1200 was when the movie came out - so if you are going to sell it, definitely wait for the next movie, you will get more for it
