  1. Personally I am against glasses with adjusting lenses, because they make your eyes stop adjusting to light, which can cause problems that are worse.

A friend of mine had parents who put her in Transitions at age 10 (even though the eye doctor initially opposed it) and her eyes stopped adjusting. At 18 when she wanted contacts, she had a h**l of a time adjusting.

Even if you don't think you'll want to try contacts someday, though, glasses that adjust are just a bad idea.

  2. Seems to me there use to be options as to how dark they would go, but that would effect how clear the would be indoors.

I found that I preferred better clarity indoors with the anti-reflective coating and separate sun glasses.

  3. They will probably get darker after they have done the complete light/dark cycle a few more times.

It's rare to hear they aren't dark enough, most complaints I get about them is that they are too dark.

My office is just a few seconds walk inside a shopping center from the outside door, and most clients who come in with them have very very dark lenses for a few minutes.

  4. You need to "bake" them in direct sunlight for a couple of hours. That kicks them in and makes them turn dark, dark. When they are brand new, they haven't changed yet, so they don't go as dark and they don't change as fast as they will once you activate them. Put them in direct sunlight, not in a window, not in the car, but on your porch for a couple hours, I think you'll be much happier then!

  5. sometime it

    depends how dark it

    is where your at

so dont give up on them yet
