Indian speedster, Irfan Pathan, has revealed that making a comeback at first-class cricket will be a tough transition for him, especially with a 4-day assignment ahead of the seamer.
However, Pathan also feels that he must avail his stint under the domestic circle, which may aid him to earn a shot at the national team’s undecided bowling line-up, scheduled to tour http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 in December this year.
In his recent interview, Pathan said that it may take him some time to get accustomed to the longer format (4-day cricket), having already served a recent Twenty20 (T20) spell for his local side, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Baroda-c769.
“To be honest, it might take me one or two matches to get back to the longer format. My intention is to keep practicing and spend lesser time in the gym. There’s been only one session so far,” said Pathan.
“I’ll be playing first-class cricket after close to two years. I’m certainly a little nervous. It takes time to make that transition from T20 and one-day to four-day cricket. But, the main thing is to feel the rhythm. As that improves, I’ll be able to bowl
longer spells,” he added.
