Transitions Championship is improving Florida's economy
The upcoming mega event of the Transitions Championship is scheduled to be played at Innisbrook Golf Resort and Spa, Copperhead Palm Harbor in Florida, from March 15 to 18.
This Professional Golf Association-staged tournament is huge. The purse is $5.5 million, where the winner will earn $990,000 and an additional 500 FedEx Cup points.
Similarly, most of the leading golf players are in the field and spectators are waiting to see their pros in front of them.
The sensational venue and the presence of all the appealing golfers in Florida are making the tournament one of the hottest.
The Transitions Championship is also boosting the revenue generation in the region.
All the professionals will stay at the resort and can enjoy first-class facilities as well. The Innisbrook Golf Resort and Spa is famous for its lodging, housing, restaurants and other amenities.
Hence, a huge numbers of spectators are also heading to the famous resort. The large crowd will be pushing up the revenues of the resort and the region’s economy as well.
The local economy is also flourishing due to higher ticket sales and arrivals of hundreds of fans.
“Innisbrook couldn’t be more proud to host such a well-respected PGA TOUR event. It certainly draws attention to our award-winning Copperhead Golf Course and to the resort,” Ramona Hurley, Innisbrook Spokesperson, said.
“You also can’t put a price on the National and International television exposure this event brings to our area,” she added.
She further stated, "Visitors love to stay in the area and enjoy our beautiful beaches and all there is to do throughout the St. Pete/ Tampa Bay area. It’s a win-win for everyone in the area".
In the start of the current month, two tournaments were also played in Florida. It was the Honda Classic and World Golf Championships-Cadillac Championship on different Floridian venues.
Both the events were also the hottest. They attracted a huge number of followers, due to the most appealing field, including the world leaders.
Similarly, the Transitions Championship is also about to begin and attain the support of many, without having the top leaders in the field.
Despite the absence of the world famous golfers like Phil Mickelson, Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy and Lee Westwood, the visitors’ zeal and zest is appreciable.
