I was just wondering how to say "I'm home" in Irish. It's for a story I'm writing, and the online dictionaries weren't much help. So does anybody speak Irish?? :)

  1. "I'm home" is "Táim sa bhaile"

  2. My mother being white Irish (murphy) would hit me hard but I heard that said in song by "the clancy brothers" they are/were Irish fork singers . in the song  I think

    " I'm home it's supper time"

  3. I'm home is "Tá mé abhaile."

  4. You say "Táim abhaile" if your announcing to people that you're home.

Like you walk in and say "Honey I'm home" then thats "honey táim abhaile"

If you're replying to someone asking you where you are then you use "Táim sa bhaile" or "Táim ag baile".

For example if someone rings you up and asks

"where you are" and you say

"Im at home" that would be

    "Cá bhfuil tú?"

    - "Táim sa bhaile" OR "Táim ag baile"
