I have a 1999 Audi A4 can someone tell me where the trans fluid go and how to put it in.

  1. There is a fill plug in the underside of the transmission pan. There is a special method to filling it.


  2. vw is funny with there trans. the plug is meant to break off, so only they get to mess with it. If it needs fluid it probably needs to be serviced all the way.

  3. should be a a dip stick, one for oil and one for transmission, one is dark that being oil and the other is lighter orange or reddish color

  4. I would suggest getting a shop manual for the car (available at most auto parts stores). It will give you the information and will be a valuable tool for future do it yourself maintenance. You want to be sure not to overfill the transmission and to use the right type of fluid. All this information is in a shop manual. Good luck and have fun.

  5. the car does not have a trans stick.it is filled by a special machine from underneath the car thru the trans pan.

  6. the fluid goes in where you check the fluid. pull the stick out, get a large funnel and fill the transmission, but watch you dont overfill it or yu could blow a seal.
