Water a small potted plant . place the pot in a plastic bag and tie it around the base of the stem to ensure that water does not escape from the soil. place the potted plant on top of a glass or plastic sheet and covet it with a bell jar. in the absence of a bell jar or widemouthed bottle, place the setup in a clear, transparent and air-tight plastic bag. this is setup 1

setup 2. this time use a flower pot with soil but with no living plant. cover also the pot and soil with plastic. then place the entire setup om another air-tight bell jar or plastic bag.

within 24 hours, observe the droplets of water along the inner wall of the bell jar in setup 1. compare with 2

  1. animals perspirate (perspiration)

    and plants transpirate (transpiration)

fake plants don't transpirate, so little to no water residue would be on the second jar.

I'm not going to do the experiment though.
