Question:

Transportation From NYC to Six Flags Great Adventure

Me and my dad want to go to Great Adventure on the 11th or the 12th, but the mother won't let us rent a car. We are staying at the Blakely Hotel in NYC (on 57th) and hope to get out to NJ and back (safely). Could we just get a taxi out there? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

  1. you could take a taxi there but that would be really expensive.. when my friends went to six flags from nyc to nj, they just went to the port terminal on 42nd street and took a bus there.. the round trips are only $27 for one person and the ride there is about an hour and 20 minutes..

  2. My friend, from your hotel, walk to the 57th Street subway station of the "N", "R", "Q" and "W" lines (Yellow Line). Take the downtown (southbound) train from 57th Street and Times Square-42nd Street.

Once at Times Square-42nd Street, walk to the Port Authority Bus Terminal via the underground concourse (follow the direction sign that says "A", "C", "E", Port Authority Bus Terminal") and take the NJ Transit bus route 308 to Six Flags.

I hope this information is very helpful.

    Good luck and enjoy

  3. You could take a taxi to Jackson, NJ from NY, but it will cost a LOT of money each way.

To save on the huge fare. Check out the New Jersey Shore line on NJ Transit train. It goes as far South to Bay Head Ocean County. It might be cheaper to take a taxi from Bay Head to Jackson.

The Bus at Port Authority---goes from NYC to Lakewood. During the Summer they may also run a special bus to Jackson.

There is a bus that does run to Great Adventure. Check it out. Be sure to arrange your day so you are able to return at a decent time.
