I have heard their metro/train system is very efficient, but I am wondering if you wanted to visit Paris from a larger city like Marseilles do trains go from town to town or just innercity like a subway does?

  1. The train network is very dense so you will be able to travel easily by train from one region to another. Not only do they connect large cities, they also connect a lot of smaller towns. Locally you also have bus services.

SNCF is the French railway company and you can book tickets online on http://www.voyages-sncf.com/leisure/fr/l...

You can go from Marseilles to Paris in just over 3 hours with the TGV (high speed trains).

  2. The french transportation system is the better one (exept when they are on strike). But in france we don't really use the plane to go to town to town, so we use the train which is really really really good and easy to use...

  3. the train system is quite good coz it belongs to the state. marseilles is like 900km from paris and u cant get there in just a few hours with the TGV, very fast train. (to give u an idea i think it is a second fastest in the world and very safe) it doesnt stop.

then big cities have the subway. the train stops at each station like in london or anywhere else. u can go from the north of paris to the south in one hour. smaller cities use the tran or bus
