What are the best options for travelling from Paris Orly to a hotel near the Gare de Leon subway station? Our plane lands late in the evening, and it looks like 3 subway changes so any suggestions would be helpful.

  1. you better give yourselves lots and lots of time. last year we landed at an airport in paris then took a bus to the gare de lyon. but we didn't plan it out too well. we only gave ourselves an hour which was not enough time. we ended up missing our train and having to get on another one. so we waited in the gare de lyon forever. by that point i had been awake for about 15 hours. but i suggest taking a bus. taxis are expensive and you'll be really tired.

  2. From the airport take the Orlyval automated métro to the Antony RER B station. Then take RER B (Direction: Aéroport CDG/Mitry-Claye) to Châtelet-les-Halles where you transfer with RER A (Direction Boissy St-Léger/Marne-la-Vallée) and the next stop will be Gare de Lyon. [Price 9.60 € - Time 45-50 minutes]

    Other options are:

    1) Take Orlybus to Denfert-Rochereau + a cab

    [Price 6.30 € for Orlybus + 40 € for the cab - 40 minutes]

    2) Take an Air France bus (line 1 or 1* - last bus at 11:15 pm /10:55pm for 1*) to Gare Montparnasse and bus 91 to Gare de Lyon.

    [Price 10 € + 1.60 € - 50 minutes]

    3) Take Orlybus to the stop called Glacière-Tolbiac. Walk down rue de Tolbiac (for 600m east) towards number 184 at the intersection with Rue Charles Fourier. Then take bus 57 on rue Charles Fourier (Direction Porte de Bagnolet) to Gare de Lyon. [Price 6.30 € + 1.60 € - Time: 45-50 minutes] = the cheapest but involves an 8-minute walk with luggage between the two buses.
