Transportation in the French Alps!?

Do somebody know a not so expensive transportation between Chamonix and Courchevel? Shuttle, bus, train...?

  1. Ski Taxis can arrange your transfer from Lyon airport by private taxi, group minibus, coach or shuttle.


  2. That's not the easiest of trip. There's 117 kms between the two by the shortest way but it is closed quite often in winter. By motorways it is 250 kms.

    Coach + train is the cheapest but not the easiest, involving plenty of changes due to travelling through different valleys.

    There's no train from Chamonix or to Courchevel but you can take the coach from Chamonix to Sallanches (1 hour), then the train from Sallanches to Moutiers-Salins (4h30 with a change of train at Chambery), then the coach from Moutiers-Salins to Courchevel.

    Or you rent a car.

    More expensive solution would be a taxi. Count some 300 Euros.
