Question:

Transunion FICO score as reported to Providian (WAMU)?

I have a Wamu credit card (previously Providian) and they provide your FICO score as reported by Transunion. I do have an excellent credit history; however I was more than a little shocked to see that it was 852!! It had been in the 800 range for quite a while any ways but how can I have a score higher than the range they show of up to 850?

  1. Different agencies use different scoring methods. I think that they just put the 850 as a general high because mine is above that number at one reporting agency and not the other two.

  2. Congrats with your credit history.  But, that score (because I have WAMU credit cards too and have compared them with myfico.com scores) and scores from other mediums are typically different from another up to 10 points.

  3. I actually looked it up. Here are the score ranges:

    FICO Score 300-850

    Equifax Fico  300-850

    Experian 330-830

    TransUnion Empirica  150-934

    VantageScore 500-990

Good for you for having excellent credit!
