Does anyone have information about the recent TransUnion class action lawsuit settlement? I heard it was settled but don't know where to get info about it.

    In a nutshell, if you ever had a credit card, loan, or mortgage, and it was (or could have been) reported to TransUnion, you qualify for 9 months of free credit reports, scores, ad credit monitoring.  

    TransUnion got caught selling personal information to a 3rd party for use in targeted advertising (a huge violation of the FCRA).  They got slapped with a $75 million dollar judgment.  

    There are literally millions of people who qualify for a piece of this.  Don't expect to get any money from this....25% already is earmarked for the lawyers, another 10% for other parties who helped in the case, and more for the original participants in the suit.  Other money is earmarked for charity, and whatever is left will get divided amongst millions of others.
