Trappers Corner, 5 to 2 favourite, wins ‘THE GALA CORAL MAIDENS’ at Romford on Jan 13

‘The Gala Coral Maidens’ was won by the son of Droopys Scolari out of Pinewood Linda, Trappers Corner, at Romford on Friday, January 13, 2012.
With the cash prize of £150, the 400 metre long Open Race (Grade OR) started off at 19:46. The atmosphere was pretty exciting in the stadium, as six top hounds were pursuing the cherished victory.
Ahead of the clash, Parkwest Angel, trained by A E Gardiner, was rated as ‘the banker’, sent at 2 to 1, favourite in the race. However, the b***h was defeated by Trappers Corner, by a minor head's distance.
With the winning chances of 5 to 2, the winner, trained by D Mullins, began his act from third stall. The black hound outplayed rest of the partakers, and reached the winning post in 24.27 seconds.
The champ was chased by the favourite b***h, Parkwest Angel, the daughter of Kinloch Brae out of Liaise With Lisa.

After setting off the proceedings from the first stall, she took 24.28 seconds to touch the final line.
The third and fourth places were respectively grabbed by Isheforreal and Jazz Gibbo, the two hounds with joint odds of 7 to 2.
Isheforreal, the son of Royal Impact out of Thai Girl, crossed the wire in 24.60 seconds, starting his run from the fourth trap.
By covering the area in 24.66 seconds, Jazz Gibbo, the son of Westmead Hawk out of Jazz Hurricane, managed to finish fourth on the chart.
He was followed by the black b***h, Newinn Holly, trained by M L Locke. The 10 to 1 favourite, the kid of Droopys Scolari out of Little Diva, showed early pace, but lost her advantage slowly but surely. She made it to the ultimate destination in 24.76
seconds.
Glen Junior, the son of Big Daddy Cool out of Killough Nell, was the least impressive hound on the track. He finished the proceedings in 24.94 seconds, picking up the last slot on the table. His probability to win the contest was 8 to 1.
Despite the fact that the last four hounds failed to produce the goods, the nail-biting clash between the top-2 infused a lot of entertainment in the competition.
