Trappers Corner wins The Coral On TV Maiden Trophy – Heat 2 at Romford
Being the most favourite hound, Trappers Corner notched up the top position in The Coral On TV Maiden Trophy – Heat 2 Open Race event of 400m category, by beating Boris Johner, Millwards Boom, Centurion Dolly, Wellstone Two and Tullymurry Bono, on
January 16, 2012, at Romford track.
It was an amazing race with Trappers Corner coming up to the expectations of both, the bookies and the spectators.
The black dog exhibited outstanding performance as it was predicted before the start of the race.
The margin he maintained to win the race was evident of his unnerved stamina and matchless skills. In his 6 races so far, the son of Droopys Scolari has won three.
As usual, the dog started yesterday’s race with a winning attitude. As the break call came at 19:58, the trainee of D Mullins broke from trap 1.
The young runner had an excellent early pace which helped him take the lead within three seconds. Jumping aggressively, the dog went far away from his opponents.
Trappers Corner managed to maintain his speed and stamina quite brilliantly, while finishing in 24.36 seconds, with a huge difference of 4 lengths. It was truly an outstanding performance from the hound.
Mullins was excited to watch his new trainee winning the event. He was hopeful that the dog would build up a promising career, and bring home a number of iconic titles in future.
On the basis of this triumph, the racing experts anticipate that the dog, who was whelped in May 2010, would remain the one to look out for during the calendar year.
The second spot in the race went to Boris Johner. The white and black dog broke from trap 3, and straight away got stuck and bumped a few on the way.
However, the son of Daves Mentor managed to run ahead of the other four hounds. Trained by B J Harris, he bridged the distance in 24.68 seconds.
The third top finisher was Millwards Boom, who reached the boundary line in 24.88 seconds after breaking from trap 2, trailing by 2 ½ lengths.
The black dog was whelped in April 2010, and he is trained by P.W. Young.
At the end of the event, the winner walked away with £150, while each of the other hounds bagged £30.
