http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfL-Wolfsburg-c40881 manager, Felix Magath, revealed that Christian Trasch is set to be stripped off his captaincy.

The 24-year old moved to Wolfsburg from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfB-Stuttgart-c40879 on 25th July 2011 for an undisclosed fee. The 1860 Munich youth player spent four successful years at the Mercedes-Benz Arena. He made his senior debut for Die Roten
at the age of 20 and went on to make 83 league appearances.
The full-back is capable of scoring some spectacular goals and bagged five for his former club. After moving to Wolfsburg, he was quickly appointed as the club captain by their new boss Felix Magath, who considered Trasch to be
a natural leader.
The 24-year old’s performances deteriorated swiftly after his appointment as the captain. The player was not relishing the extra responsibility and was clearly struggling to deal with the expectations that came with the captain’s
armband.
Magath revealed that he will be relieving the former Stuttgart man off his armband and a new captain will be appointed in due time.
“We are to make a change on this. Christian Trasch will not be captain of Wolfsburg this season,” he is quoted as saying in an interview.
The manager himself believes that the captain’s armband was piling extra pressure on the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 international and he could not cope with it.
"I think for Christian the job of skipper was rather a burden,” he added.
The 58-year old insists he handed Trasch the armband to help him develop into a better player, instead the 24-year old felt the stress and pressure.
It was evident from his performances that the armband actually worked against him. The Wolfsburg full-back lost his place in the Mannschaft and he struggled to deliver in the Bundesliga.
"And I intend to help a player with the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 of skipper. I do not intend to put him under stress with that role,"
By installing him as the captain, Magath was asking too much from the player. Trasch was probably not ready to take the extra responsibility and the stress affected his own performances as he had to tailor his game to fulfil captain’s
tag.
Not every can be the captain, some player thrive extra responsibility and some do not. The former Stuttgart man was the latter and removing him from the captaincy was the best thing Magath could have done.
