Great time of the year to be there.Lots of festivals going on with the build up to Christmas.Rome or Florence would be a good choice to spend the holiday period at.lots of bars & resturants.If you have plenty of time on your hands take a trip down to the ancient town of Taormina on the east coast of Sicily.Trully lovely place ,great views of the Harbour & mount Etna.Might even fancy a few days skiing on the Volcano? or a boat trip round the Bay.
