Travel, fragile luggage, bubblewrap, ?? ?

Question

I'm travelling overseas with an expensive object. I can't afford another seat, so I'm thinking of bubblewrapping it several times and send it through as fragile luggage.

Any other ideas?

is the object large?

if its small enough to fit into a suit case, bubble wrap it, the nplace within suit case, then bubble wrap suit case as well. if theres excess room wihtin bag and object bubble wrap, fill with news paper.

-if to big for a bag, then do a single layer of bubble wrap, surround in several layers of paper towels, then several more of bubble wrap
