What would be a great place to vacation for about a week in the US? Something not too ridiculously expensive, with good sight-seeing or an awesome city with great shopping and other features.

  1. lee hotel in jiolet 5o dollars

  2. Depends on what you want to do...

San Diego is great , you can go to Sea World, Balboa, the Wild Animal Park, you can hike and bike and sail and take in the beach. A side trip to Catalina Island is fun.

Dallas is great, there's Six Flags and a Water Park and the shopping is pretty intense there. It's pretty inexpensive.

Jackson is nice for kayaking/rafting, hiking, horseback riding.

Durango is beautiful and has all of this , too. The Million Dollar Highway is a breathtaking drive (lol, don't do it

if you have heights issues, there's no guardrail).

San Francisco is a bit pricey , but you can shop and check out the pier. SF is usually a 2-3 trip for me because I don't do shopping :) but I love this city.

Vegas is nice ,I can only take 2-3 days of it :) But there's alot of family stuff and if you stay during the week, it's cheap. There are some side trips around, like kayaking below the hoover dam. Oh, there a pool where you can have cocktails in front of a shark tank :-) at the Nugget.

Seattle is wonderful. It has good shopping and Pikes and there are several ferry options, etc.

D.C. is cool; the Smithsonian is amazing! A bit pricey.

Charleston (SC) is pretty; there's sightseeing, shopping, beautiful beaches, etc. Not terribly expensive.

NYC is pricey, but it's just so full of vivacity and culture and diversity, I absolutely love it. A lot to do; shows, shopping if you like that, museums, sites.

Moab is great to hike, bike, kayak/raft.

Oh yeah, Salt Lake City is pretty cool & cheap. We have hiking, biking, gorgeous mountains. There is an amusement park called Lagoon; not great , but you know it's what we have. Park City is a nice side trip. I personally would skip the whole mormon thing downtown but that's me. I know we have shopping here somewhere, I just haven't bothered to find out where; probably downtown. I'd only do SLC if you were more into the outdoors, it's really the best reason to visit. Red Iguana and Takashi are musts here. Oh yea, there are some cool rides at Snowbird and Deer Valley (alpine slides, zip riders :) Outdoor concerts are great at Red Butte and Deer Valley and you can bring in picnic, wine).

    Have fun wherever you go!

  3. Gatlinburg Tennessee

  5. San Diego,Calif. Make a list of priorities because there's a lot to do. San Antonio, Texas. Stay in hotel not on the river walk to save money.Explore the river walk and down by bus. Fun!!!!

  6. Anywhere in the Outer Banks (NC).  It's very laid back and family-friendly.  There are only a couple hotels up and down the entire coast so there is not a million people on the beach.  Here's a good rental place that we've gone through a few times: http://www.surforsound.com/.  If you want to spend even less money, there are several oceanfront campgrounds in the area, too.  Here's one that I recommend: http://www.oceanwavescampground.com/. Also plenty of shops and museums.  You can even bring the family pet!

  8. San Antonio is a great place.  They have a Sea World and a Six Flags.  You could go to the Alamo.  The River Walk is a great place to relax and eat good food, and there's also a mall on one end of it.

  9. Go to San Francisco - it has just about everything.

Stay at the Campton Place Hotel on 340 Stockton Street.
