Question:

Travel Insurance claim- Denied?

My father came from india to US, he had travel insurance. Suddenly he got stroke, admitted to hosiptal in US and he was taken back to india and he is continuing the treatment. Now the insurance rejected $80,000 claim since it was pre-existing condition (it was his three stroke).

Now i dont have that much money since i came to US couple of years back.

Hospital and Doctor office are sending receipts to my address...saying if i didnt pay it will goto collection agency. Letters & receipts are coming in my father name.

Any suggestions to solve the issue.

  1. Are you legally responsible for his medical bills? I don't know the answer to this question.

You could talk to the hospital and ask about a more responsible price or you can use a medical claim review and settlement organization. If you visit MyMedicalcontrol.com they will try and negotiate a lower price for you. If they succeed you will pay them 30% of what they saved you, if they are not able to get you a better price you are not charged anything.

  2. i dont think their is way to solve this issue u have to pay it

sorry my friend its my view hope for the best

  3. Either pay it, or let it go to collections.

Clearly, if it was his third stroke, the denial was correct.

  4. If they are coming in his name, they are his responsibility. They are not able to do anything to you unless you are claiming to them that you are responsible for his medical bills.
