Question:

Travel: Southern India Vs. Golden Triangle for 1 Week?

I'll be traveling to India in late August for work. It currently looks as if I'll be spending 2-3 weeks in Bangalore; afterwards, I plan to use a week of my own time to travel around. Should I travel north to the "Golden Triangle" (New Delhi - Agra - Jaipur), or should I stay in southern India? During my work time, I will do what I can to see sights in Bangalore, and take a weekend trip to Mysore.

  2. Golden triangle would be a better choice. In 7 days, you could travel Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, Udaipur also.

  3. There are many different routes one can take through India:

  4. There are lot of places to visit in South India(South India includes 5 states .They are Tamilnadu,Kerala,Karnataka,Andhra Pradesh & Goa)....

Try to get the details in Internet......... There are lot of tourism websites exclusively for the 5 south indian states...

  5. If u r going to stay 2-3 weeks in Bangalore and then u have a week to urself. i suggest u keep that week for the Golden triangle.

I am hoping that u wud have atleast the weekends for urself for the time u spend in Bangalore. This you use for site seeing in the south India. In and around Bangalore u shudnt miss Mysore and Coorg. If have time go to Mangalore. U cud keep one weekend for 2 of these. Another weekend for Munnar and Kumarakom Or Periyar Sanctuary in Thekady.....its one of best preserved wildlife sanctuaries in India and wats more thekady is in Kerala.....another weekend u cud keep for Chennai+Mahabablipuram, Tirupati or Hyderabad......

In the one week for the Golden triangle U cud even manage Delhi and Amritsar dont miss out on these.....

Its going to be a hectic schedule if u stick to this.....u cud skip one of the places, after all u wud be coming to India again and again, coz no one can come just once :)
