Travel adapter and voltage for Cuba?? Gifts for locals??

Hi I am hoping to travel to Cayo Coco in the next couple of weeks. Does anyone know what kind of travel adapter I would need? Also, what is the voltage compared to England as I am worried my hairdryer and straighteners won't work!!

Also, should we take any gifts for the locals? Or is Cayo Coco not the kind of resort for that?

Yes you can take gifts for the friends in Cayo Coco...I have many friends there and they would appreciate little gifts....whether you go into town or stay at the resort. Which resort are you booked at? You will just love it there!

As for a travel adapter....Cuba’s electricity is 110 volts, 60Hz, but most hotels and resorts have 220 volts. Electrical outlets take flat plug prongs.

I've taken both my converter and adapter that is specifically for the Caribbean. At the resort, you will most likely have the European outlet. I'm from Canada and I needed both converter and adapter.

If you mention which resort you'll be staying at, I can let you know what their outlet is...or you just have to go online and check what the resort uses.

If you're planning on charging any batteries, cellphones, laptops, and appliances like these, you'll most likely require a different adapter for such.

Have an amazing time in Cayo Coco. I promise you that you'll not want to come back home lol!

It is easy enough to get a plug adapter - but that may not be enough. You need to look at you equipment to see if it can cope with 110. Most high-tech. stuff includes a transformer anyway, and so may accept a range of inputs. The Ipod and camera charger should say on them what they accept.

There aren't many locals on Cayo Coco - just the staff. But you should make the effort to get over to the mainland and visit Morón.
