Travel by horse?

How long would it take to travel roughly 100 miles by horse?? Just your... average horse.

I'd say probably over 10 hours... it depends on how fast you're going and how much endurance the horse has... you can gallop at speeds of 30-40 mph, but you can't gallop over 100 miles without breaks.  A horse walks only a few miles per hour... if you have a big horse with a big trot, you can trot at about 10 mph.  If you have a horse that's really fit and has a lot of endurance, you can continue trotting/cantering for a long time and take short walk breaks.
