Question:

Travel chaperone for a sixteen year old girl?

Next year, I'll be flying from Ottawa to California to stay with a family friend for the summer. We don't think I'll be able to get a direct flight. I've never flown before, so I'm not really comfortable travelling on my own. I'm wondering if it's normal to hire a chaperone for someone my age. I'd also like to know what a chaperone would do if possible.

Thanks in advance

  1. It's normal. Okay so what you do; Your parents walk you to the gate where you get on the planee, and the flight attendant will walk you back to your seat. You will be the last person off of the plane, And the flight attendant will walk you where your supposed to go. Most airports have what is called a "kids room" depending on what airline you use, and where your layover is. In the kids room you watch movies, play games, color, whatever you want. sleep event it's really nice. then when it is time to board your plane they walk you to your gate, and another one will put you on your plane. Then when you get to your destination who ever is picking you up will meet you at the gate! It's normal for people flying for there first time, espically alone to be escorted, espically minors. good luck and have fun.

  2. u dont need to im not even 16 and i travel alot once u get the schedule then it'll be easier u can also ask for direction

  3. you cant hire a chaperone, but some airlines have an unaccampanied minor policy if your under i thionk 15, but the airline people are usually accomadating, and if you have a connecting flight you can ask any security people were the plain is and they'll tell you

  4. the air plane have people that chaperone you if you ask your carrier about someone chaperoning you they would have an answer.
