Travel from Vietnam to the U.S. Please help!?

I have a family member that wants to travel from Vietnam to the US for a business convention. What paper work does he need to make that possible. please help.

He needs to contact the US Embasssy in Ha Noi, or the Consulate in HCMC and ASK!!!!! I can tell you all kinds of BS - but the consular officer that is going to be trying to make sure your terrorist family member isn't going to come to the US of A and skrew us, and isn't going to stay much, much longer than he should, lest he (fill in the blanks).

He has to get some forms and fill them out, very carefully. He has to show he will return to VN, he won't stay on and be a business success, or a terrorist, or anything in between.

Little old ladies who want to visit their grandchildren in the US have been refused visas, so your family member BETTER take this exercise seriously!  Regrettably the USG DIRECT HIRES in the embassy take it TOO seriously, and they don't have to explain. I suspect they are docked if their visa issue to rejection rate is too high!

You need to get in contact with the US Embassy and ask them what is required; but you also need to check with the Vietnamese Government.  Good Luck.  C
