Travel from laos to cambodia?

does anyone have some good information about getting the boat along the mekong river from vientiene to siem riep or phenom pehn. time and cost. or other transport options that arent taking a plane.

Most of the trip you can do now by bus/minibus as more and more parts of the road are finished. But down the Mekong river is definetly the more amazing trip. Only, you can not go the way by boat anymore as with the finished road more and more boat services stop. But you should try to do as much as possible by boat as it seems that it is not possible too long anymore
