Travel from trivandrum to ooty.. I would like to know the various options.Can smebdy pls help....?

I have my sister travelling with me. So would prefer train...

I want to start frm Trivandrum and return back to Trivandrum itself....

coimbatore is the closest mainstream station to Ooty. You have plenty of options (18 trains) from trivandrum to coimbatore. this link will give you more details ...http://indiarailinfo.com/search/59/41

from coimbatore take a bus to mettupalayam. after that, take a 'toy train' from mettupalayam to ooty - you won't regret it!!!

You can travel up to Coimbatore by train, You can arrange for your to & fro reservations.  Take a bus to ooty from Coimbatore.

Otherwise travel upto Mettupalayam again by Train from Coimbatore and thereafter by the narrow gauge train service to ooty..
