  1. If you are talking about transportation to West India(Bihard and Orissa?).

Bihar is not in West India, it is almost North East India.

Well anyway, you can definitely choose Air Transportation. There are ever some charter flights to small airports and from there you can hire a Taxi.

Make sure you get your own private transportation. If you are worried about the condition of the area, then do NOT travel in Public Transportation like trains and buses.

  2. you can go by train from bombay or newdelhi, after landing in india. take a/c  2nd class or 3 tier., bihar is connected from both the places. take government tourist buses or hotels. try package tours to places of Budhist interest arranged by state tourism dept.  there is no danger if you normal precautions like, not indulging in loose talk with strangers, not taking drinks[they are lacerated with something that makes you unconscious for hours]     ....if you want another site, go to hyderabad[andhra pradesh] from bombay or delhi, either by train[16 hrs]or plane[one hour]. you can see Nagarjuna sagar dam and buddhist  places of interest like amaravathi. journey is safest,.

you should have 10 days to cover most of them.

    2. orissa and bihar  are in east and south east india. they are close to each other but not much of attraction there. It is scortchingly hot from april-june so avoid.

  8. Hi, I grew up in Bihar and can safely say that if you travel in Bihar, make sure you read the Lonely Planet or other guides really well about your destinations, mode of transport (eg. trains. taxis) and know WHERE you will stay. If you're going to visit Nalanda University -- contact them well in advance with your dates and have them arrange for someone to meet you at the local train station. Bihar is not a safe place for women travelling alone, especially if you stop to ask a lot of questions from people or if you are not decisive about where you are going. Carry only needed amounts of Rupees in a belt pocket under your top, keep the rest in traveller's checks. Wear conservative clothing, not to get heckled by unsavoury types..Comfortable Indian salwar-kameez is better than tight western clothes. This clothing advisory is for female travellers.

If you have any further questions you may send me email.
