Travel options from madurai to kanyakumari

I am staying in madurai and visiting rameshwaram and kanyakumari.. hav scheduled 1 day for each.. pls tell me the best way to travel.. thanks

You can either travel by tourist bus or through train.  Train No. 6317 runs between Madurai and Kanyakumari.

Madurai - Kovilpatti - tirunelveli - Kanyakumari - 240 Kms / 6 hrs

Regular Buses are available from Madurai

Kanyakumari - Rameswaram - 310 Kms

Rameswaram - Madurai - 175 Kms

Take over night/day bus or hire taxi to visit both places for a day visit.

u can get bus from madurai maattuthavani bus stand... 4hrs journey to reach rameshwaram,frm rameshwaram u can get bus to kanyakumari .. it wil take 3hrs... better to get a cab in madurai itself
