I have a friend who is currently in Ghana. She is an american citizen, who also has some family in Ghana. She is looking to come back to Australia for a while to work, travel etc... On contacting the travel agent to arrange flight & documents, agent is saying she required to have a declaration. This declaration has a fee of $AU 3000.00. She is concerned that if she doesn't pay, she won't be allowed to enter Australia. I know that the Australia Government requires a declaration as documentation of character, health etc.. to be consider to immigration, but this senses excessive. Is this a scam?
I recommended she visit the Australian Embassy - any suggestion out there in cyber world ? Many Thanks John in OZ
