I’m 17 and always suffered from really bad travel sickness, especially flying! I hate it! it makes me so ill. I’ve tried so many different things, all the tablets, all the bands, sucking on a lemon! eating ginger biscuits! nothing seems to work. in 3 weeks I’m going on holiday with my boyfriend for the first time, were going 2 Bulgaria, and from the UK its a 3-4 hour flight. I really don’t want to get ill, does anyone have any suggestions? is there something my doctor can give me? thanks x

  1. YES, ask your Dr. for the scopolamine patch. I get sick on planes and wore these for my last trip (we flew to Florida and to a 7 day cruise around the Caribbean). We had very, very, very  rough seas and many were sick. Me and my hubby never felt a thing. We felt great.

The only side effect we experienced was we were thirsty. It does not make you drowsey.

One patch lasts for 3 days ans you wear it behind your ear.

  2. Ahh i always hated motion sickness. the best medicine out there is Dramamine. take a full tablet if you want to sleep through the flight. otherwise take one fourth. it takes care of the nausea and you wont fall asleep. :-)

  3. You'll have to ask your dr. if theres anything additional he can give other than the OTC stuff.  If not take a little benadryl before you go and try and sleep most of the time (some head phones if possible) avoid watching tv reading or looking at a comp. screen these always increas the sickness.

  4. I would probably have some toast an hour before you get in the car,  Take a bottle of water with you and some barley sugar - which I find helps.  When you feel yucky try to concentrate on your breathing - breathing in slowly and out through your mouth - hope this helps it does me.  One more thing I find fresh air helps, obviously on the plane use the air conditioning full blast.
