Me and My friend (18) are planning to just leave behind england and go travell the world, we will be leaving our jobs behind.

We are not Uni students, we feel we have nothing to lose!

We plan to get various bar jobs to help us along the way.

Do you have any advice

  1. Do it, you are only young once, I did the same when I was 19. Just be careful, stick together and don't trust anyone. Enjoy.

  2. We went travelling in 2004/05  for 4 months, I was 27 and my boyfriend was 29 ..

I wish I have done it before and for longer.. but had to many comitment at that age (work... house ect) .. we could not go for longer.. :(

We survived 4 months together.. then we thought we ment to be together.. it is not easy to be with a peson 24/7 but if you can make it then is LOVE! :) We got married awhen we came back! ;)

You are still very young.. go for it.. it will be something you will rememember forever!

Please dont just go to places to get dunk and waisted... many young travellers just do that.. no point.. make the most of it; enjoy every single place you visit and and learn from every single person you are going to meet.

  3. Do not rely on your friend. The chances are you will fall out along the way. You need to have an exceptionally strong friendship if you are going to last the course.

And make sure you have enough for a plane ticket home so your parents don't have to bail you out if things go wrong. You might think this advice is harsh but mark my words.

  4. No it's a very frightening idea. Do you or your friend talk any foreign languages. And where are you going to sleep "in a tent" and last what if you can't find any work........Save up and have money just in case, and have a plan....................

  5. Hey, welcome to the gypsy underground! Don't let the word out too loudly now...

Seriously though, I too am in the process of breaking free from this tired old urban machine. In fact I hear alot of young people have been interested in this lately. So glad to hear it! It is your human birthright to be traveling wherever and however often you want!

Words of advice? Nuts, berries, clean water and plenty of sunshine!

See you on the trail... ;-)

  6. man thats so awesome! take me with you! lol

i wish i can do that too when i grow older, just forget everything..and travel the world..

many tourists got ripped off, be careful
